Time to relax

After a couple days of skiing in Bavaria and six weeks of vacation ahead of me I finally get the chance to relax a bit after exam time.
It has become so warm in Berlin...it´s absolutely crazy! Spring has come around and I can´t wait to show you all the beautiful dresses and summer clothes hanging in my closet waiting to be worn and to share some exciting journeys with you which are all planned for this coming summer.

Hats and a bit of sun

Once again I should appolagize for being unable to post anything in the last couple of weeks, but since it is exam time once again, the days are just never long enough to manage everything.
The weather in Berlin ist starting to become a little friendlier again and there has been a very slight feeling of spring in the air since the last couple of days. Therefore I decided to opt for a "lighter" look and thankfully I found this amazing leather jacket in the back of my closet which I then combined with a simple pair of pants, biker boots and one of my favorite hats. Warm, but not too warm and comfortable enough to spend the day outside in the sun. What do you think??

Winter Wonderland

                             

Winter has finally arrived in Berlin and has covered the city with a beautiful white blanket. As soon as this happens, pretty much nothing can keep me from taking nice long walks through the city which has a very special atmosphere.It just becomes so much quieter...Of course snow is always combined with cold temperatures and a freezing wind here in Berlin which makes it the perfekt moment to get my furr-coat out of the closet to keep me warm and comfortable during my walks.

Fashion Week Outfits

The last couple of posts were all about fashion shows and street-styles during the last week, so I decided to post my own outfits during these days.
I do realize, that I was wearing alot of purple, but that was seriousely not planned ^^ Anyways, I hope you enjoy the pictures and stay tuned for a couple of new posts in the snow...yes, it finally did snow in Berlin!

Icons Night - Marcell von Berlin

My absolute favorite event of this Fashion Week was definately Marcell von Berlins "Icons Night" in which five beautiful haute-couture dresses were presented in a very unique location.
Good music, interesting people, yummy drinks and a bit of chocolate cake made it a very pleasant evening and also the lovely goodie-bags were filled with the one or other sweet surprise.

Miranda Konstantinidou

Another highlight of this Fashion Week was definately the "Miranda Konstantinidou" show with it´s theme "Queen of Elves".
Exciting cuts and warm colors combined with tango music brought a summer feeling into the Mercedes tent and a smile on everyones face.
My absolute favorite: The very extravagant sunglasses which all models wore during the show.

Laurèl

On the third day of the Berlin Fashion Week it was time for the amazing Laurèl show. Great music which was played by a life band, beautiful fabrics in exciting prints and bright colors and nicely worked classical cuts....what is there more to say?
My personal highlights were definately the red leather coat and a short dress with an interesting green and blue print. Hope to find both of them very soon in one of their shops.

Minx - Fashion Show

On the second day of the Berlin Fashion Week I attended the "Minx" fashion show.
All in all it was a nice show, and although I liked the classical straight cuts, I have to say, that the show did not deeply impress me.
Highlight of the show was definatly surprise model  Bruce Darnell who rocked the runway with his incredible walk and charisma. Here are a few impressions!

BFW Day 1

On the first day of this years Berlin Fashion Week I had the chance to attend the first berliner Blogger Bazaar in a beautiful location, the nHow Hotel in the Stralauer Allee 3. Other than good music, drinks and a great choice of clothes, which could be bought for farely good prices, I got to meet some old and new faces from all over the world. Another highlight was definately the huge terrace with a terrific view on the Spree and the goodie-bags which were filled with a lot of little surprises.

3,2,1...Fashion Week

And once again it is time for one of the most inspiring weeks of the year in Berlin...Fashion Week.
Starting from this tuesday the 14th of January, the city will be filled with fashionistas, models, jounalists, etc. rushing around to get from one show/event to the next while always keeping an eye open for new and exciting trends. Just like last season I also have the chance to attend some interesting events this week which I can´t wait to share with you.

Hopefully you all enjoyed Christmas with your families and are ready and excited about partying into the New Year!
2013 was an especially amazing year for me. I got the opportunity to meet so many new and inspiring people and work on a couple of small but still exciting projects. Winter Break

Christmas is just around the corner and I still can´t really believe it. Time went by so incredibly fast and every day was packed with so many things that I didn´t even notice that christmas was only...well 4 days away! Thank god that today was my first day of christmas break and I got the chance to do all the necessary shopping. Altghough it was pretty cold and grey in Berlin today I wanted to wear something colorful and eyecatching, which made me opt for this purple coat combined with a bit of leather, and took a couple of pictures during my shopping spree.
I hope you enjoy them and if I don´t get the chance to post something again before christmas, I wish every one of you a Merry Christmas!! Enjoy the time with your family and take time to relax a bit before starting into the new year.

Advent Coffee

Since it is christmas time, I thought it might be the right moment for another food post.
Tons of home made cookies and cake, that´s what our annual christmas party looks like. Not to forget the punch that warmed everyone nicely from the inside and all the wonderful guests from near and far.
Thank you everyone for coming and making this day a very special one for the 19th time!

Keeping warm in Winter

At this point I would like to recommend all of you that have something against fur not to continue reading this blog entry. You will probably not like what you see...trust me.
In my opinion, fur is one of the best ways to stay warm in winter and since (as some of you might already know) I was born in Latvia, I think I know what I am talking about. The only thing that would keep people warm during the winter season with an average temperature of -20 degrees during the day was, you guessed it, a long fur coat. Of course many people just use fur as a nice fashionable piece of clothing which they like to show off during winter, but for me, more or less, it is just the best way to stay warm and cozy (especially because I tend to freeze super easily).
I hope that all of you who chose to look at the pictures enjoy them!

3000 klicks!! I can´t believe it! I would like to thank all of you for your support and hope that you enjoy reading my blog as much as I love working on it. I started it a little more then a year ago and never would have believed that I would have readers from all over the world in only a little more then 12 months.
But now back to the stuff which this blog is all about...fashion. It has become quite cold in Berlin over the last few weeks, and yes, a tiny christmas feeling is starting to develop itself, also due to the Wintermarket which already opened at the Potsdamer Platz one week ago...crazy, I know. For these pictures I once again chose to combine an oversize pants (with an exciting print) with an oversize jacket, which have become my fall favorites this season.

Comme il faut

Once again it is time for a post about tango.

Yesterday I bought the most expensive pair of shoes which I ever bought until now...a pair of "Comme il faut" (also known as the Louboutins under the tango shoes). To most of you, they probably don´t look like much and many of you might not be willing to pay so much for a pair of dancing shoes, but let me explain. 

Do you know the feeling when you try on a shoe for the first time and you know right away that it is perfect in every way? Well that is exactly how I felt yesterday. I slipped into the shoe and felt like I was wearing the most comfortable slipper in the world. The leather is super soft and you can really feel the difference between a "normal" pair of dancing shoes and these hand crafted ones which come all the way from Buenos Aires. 

Of course the first thing I had to do after buying them was to go dancing the same evening in one of my favorite places called the "Tangoloft". The shoes are definately worth the money!

New Size Oversize

New York, Milan, Paris or London, the oversize trend can be seen all around the world.
I especially fell in love with the oversized coats and thanks to a very talented mother, I am now able to call a very unique model my own. In order to make the look not too bulky, I chose to combine the coat with a pair of skinny black pants and black booties with a small heel.

The Vintage Hat

It´s October and already quiet cold in Berlin.
Although the sun has been shining the last couple of days there is an icy wind blowing through the city, which always makes me want to cover my head with some kind of hat. So you can  imagine how happy I was to find this beautiful navy blue vintage hat at the Mauerpark last sunday. I chose to combine it with a black military style jacket from H&M and a pair of pants and leather biker boots from Zara.
