Paris, the city of love and at the same time my new home...for a month.
I am sorry that I am probably going to surprise many of you by saying that I did not fall in love with this city right away and up to this point do not feel at home very much. Most of you will now probably think that this is a rather impossible thing and since EVERYONE seems to be completely amazed by this city I would like to explain myself. In my opinion Paris is a rather difficult city to feel at home in if you come from a city like Berlin. I would not say that the people here are unfriendly, which they surely are from time to time in Berlin, but they are all very reserved, extremely stressed and in a hurry to get from one place to another, which makes it very hard to get into contact. Another quiet difficult thing for me is, that Paris is very small, compared to Berlin, and that it is definately not one of the cheapest cities you can spend your holidays (or internship in my case) in. I mean, who wants to pay up to 7 euros for a bottle of water in a Café?
But lets stop complaining. Paris surely has charm...not even I can deny that. Beautiful houses, millions of chimnys and cozy little streets in which you can find hidden restaurants and bistros which serve very good food.
